Privacy Policy
Your figures. Your device. Your choice.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
At Nisabi, we believe your financial information and religious preferences deserve privacy by design.
Nisabi helps you calculate Zakat, understand Nisab, organize financial information, plan payments, and maintain records. You can use the app's local features without uploading your financial records to Nisabi's cloud.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Nisabi handles, where it is stored, when information leaves your device, which third-party services are involved, and how you can manage or delete your data.
1. Our privacy commitments
Nisabi is designed around the following principles:
- Local by default: Your financial records and religious preferences are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly enable synchronization.
- No advertising: Nisabi does not display advertisements.
- No analytics: Nisabi does not include analytics SDKs or use analytics services to collect app usage data.
- No selling financial data: We do not sell your financial information or use it for advertising.
- No upload before sync: Signing in does not automatically upload your financial records. You must explicitly enable synchronization.
- Receipt photos stay on your device: Receipt photographs are stored in the app's private local storage and are not uploaded to Nisabi's cloud.
- No stored card numbers: Nisabi does not store payment card numbers.
- Account deletion: Deleting your account removes its associated synchronized financial records from the active cloud database, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
- Your data, your control: You can export a backup and delete local records using the functionality available in the app.
These commitments describe Nisabi's intended operation. Certain technical information may still be processed by service providers when you request features that depend on their services.
2. Who we are
Nisabi is a mobile application that helps users manage information relevant to Zakat calculations, Nisab assessments, financial records, and payment planning.
Application: Nisabi
Operator: DEVSFORT (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED
Privacy and support email: support@devsfort.com
Website: Nisabi
In this policy, “Nisabi,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the application. “You” refers to a person using Nisabi.
3. Information Nisabi handles
The information Nisabi handles depends on the features you use and the information you choose to enter.
3.1 Financial information
You may enter financial information such as:
- Cash, savings, and bank balances.
- Gold and silver holdings, including weight and purity.
- Investments and other financial assets.
- Relevant property and business assets.
- Money owed to you and other receivables.
- Liabilities and eligible deductions.
- Nisab assessments and estimated Zakat obligations.
- Zakat anniversaries and assessment dates.
- Planned payments, recorded payments, and outstanding balances.
- Historical calculations and financial summaries.
Nisabi uses this information to calculate estimates, organize your records, and support your payment planning.
Your financial records are stored locally by default. They are not uploaded to Nisabi's cloud database unless you explicitly enable synchronization.
3.2 Religious preferences
You may select calculation methodologies or preferences relating to Islamic jurisprudence.
These preferences help Nisabi present relevant calculation options and explanations. Depending on the applicable law, religious preferences may qualify as sensitive personal information.
We do not use your religious preferences for advertising or analytics.
3.3 Receipt photographs and attachments
If you add receipt photographs or supporting images, Nisabi stores them in the app's private storage area on your device.
Receipt photographs are not uploaded to Nisabi's cloud storage or included in cloud synchronization.
Photographs may contain names, transaction references, amounts, or other sensitive information visible in the image. Avoid including information that is unnecessary for your records.
Whether photographs are included in an operating-system or device backup depends on the app's backup configuration and your device settings. Device backups are separate from Nisabi's optional synchronization feature.
3.4 Account information
If you choose to sign in using Apple or Google, Nisabi may receive information made available by the selected provider, such as:
- Your name, if provided.
- Your email address, including a private relay address where applicable.
- An account identifier used to associate your account with the service.
- Authentication status and account-related information.
Apple and Google process information under their respective terms and privacy policies.
Signing in does not, by itself, authorize the upload of your financial records. Synchronization must be enabled separately.
3.5 Technical and operational information
Certain technical information may be processed when you use Nisabi or services necessary to operate it. Depending on the service, this may include:
- Application and operating-system version.
- Authentication and synchronization requests.
- Network and connection information.
- Security events and service logs.
- Technical information associated with requests for external prices or exchange rates.
Nisabi does not include analytics SDKs or use analytics services to collect app usage data.
Some service providers may process technical information automatically as part of delivering authentication, cloud infrastructure, network requests, or security functionality. This operational processing is distinct from usage analytics.
4. Local storage: your device comes first
Nisabi is designed to store your financial records and preferences locally by default.
Before you explicitly enable synchronization, your financial records remain in local app storage and are not uploaded to Nisabi's cloud database through the synchronization feature.
Local information may include:
- Financial assets and liabilities.
- Calculation results and history.
- Religious and calculation preferences.
- Payment plans and recorded payments.
- Other records created using local app features.
The exact information retained depends on the features you use.
What local storage means
Local storage means information is saved within the app's storage area on your device rather than automatically being uploaded to Nisabi's cloud database.
Local storage does not guarantee that information is inaccessible in every circumstance. Someone with access to your unlocked device, a compromised device, or an accessible device backup may be able to access some app information.
We recommend using a secure screen lock, keeping your device and operating system updated, and protecting access to your device.
5. Sign-in and optional synchronization
Nisabi supports sign-in using Apple or Google where available.
Signing in and enabling synchronization are separate actions.
Signing in identifies your account. It does not automatically upload your financial records.
When you explicitly enable synchronization, Nisabi uploads supported information to its configured cloud services so that your records can be associated with your account and accessed through supported synchronized experiences.
Depending on the features implemented and enabled, synchronized information may include financial entries, calculation history, preferences, payment plans, and related records.
Receipt photographs remain stored locally and are not uploaded through synchronization.
If you do not enable synchronization
Your financial records remain in local app storage, and synchronization of those records remains disabled.
You can continue using available local calculation and record-management features. Features that require authentication or cloud access may not be available.
If you enable synchronization
Supported records are transferred to Nisabi's configured backend services and associated with your account.
Only information supported by the synchronization feature is uploaded. You should not assume that every item stored by the app is synchronized.
You can manage synchronization through the controls available in the app.
6. Cloud infrastructure and security
Nisabi uses Firebase for its cloud infrastructure.
When supported records are synchronized, information is transmitted using secure transport protocols, such as HTTPS/TLS, where applicable. Information stored in Firebase is protected by the encryption-at-rest controls provided by the relevant Firebase services.
These protections have different purposes:
- Encryption in transit helps protect information while it travels between your device and the service.
- Encryption at rest helps protect stored information against unauthorized access to the underlying storage infrastructure.
Encryption at rest is not the same as end-to-end encryption. Depending on the service configuration, synchronized information may be accessible to authorized application processes and administrators with appropriate permissions.
We do not claim to provide end-to-end encryption unless that capability is specifically implemented and verified.
We take reasonable measures appropriate to the service to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No application, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You can help protect your information by securing your device, keeping your software updated, and protecting your Apple or Google account.
7. Gold and silver prices and exchange rates
Nisabi may retrieve external reference values to support Zakat calculations.
Gold and silver prices
Nisabi may request reference price information from Gold API:
Exchange rates
Nisabi may request currency exchange-rate information from ExchangeRate-API:
These requests are intended to retrieve reference values. Nisabi is designed not to include your personal profile, financial figures, asset holdings, or Zakat assessment details in these requests.
External providers may receive technical information associated with network requests, such as an IP address, request metadata, and information processed by their hosting infrastructure.
These providers operate independently and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
Accuracy and availability
External prices and exchange rates may change, be delayed, or become unavailable. They may not represent the exact value applicable to your circumstances or assessment date.
Review the values used in your calculation before relying on a result.
8. Advertising, analytics, and tracking
Nisabi does not display advertisements, sell financial information, or use advertising trackers.
Nisabi does not include analytics SDKs or analytics services that automatically collect app usage analytics.
We do not use analytics SDKs to build profiles of how you use the app. We do not use your financial records or religious preferences for advertising.
Service providers may still process limited technical information where necessary to provide requested services, authenticate accounts, maintain security, prevent abuse, or deliver external reference data. This operational processing is not app usage analytics.
If we introduce analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies in a future version, we will review and update this policy and any relevant app-store privacy disclosures as appropriate.
9. Payments and card information
Nisabi helps you plan and record Zakat payments.
Creating a payment plan, scheduling a payment, or marking a record as paid does not itself transfer money or independently verify that a transaction occurred.
Nisabi does not store payment card numbers.
If future versions introduce payment-processing, donation, or payment-provider integrations, those services may collect information necessary to provide the relevant transaction functionality. Any such feature will be subject to the applicable provider's terms and privacy disclosures.
Verify actual transfers through your bank or payment provider and retain appropriate transaction records.
10. Device backups
Information stored locally in Nisabi may be included in device backups depending on the app's backup configuration and your operating-system settings.
Device backups are separate from Nisabi's optional cloud synchronization.
Deleting information from Nisabi does not necessarily remove copies already included in device backups. To manage those copies, review the backup and account settings provided by your device or backup service.
Receipt photographs are stored locally. Their inclusion in device backups depends on the relevant app and device configuration.
11. How we use information
We use information as reasonably necessary to provide the features you request, including to:
- Calculate estimated Zakat obligations from information you enter.
- Help you review Nisab thresholds and relevant reference values.
- Save your preferences and calculation history.
- Maintain payment plans and recorded payments.
- Support synchronization when you explicitly enable it.
- Provide authentication and account functionality.
- Respond to support requests.
- Maintain service security and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Meet applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your financial information or use it for advertising. We do not use analytics services to collect app usage data.
Your financial records are not uploaded to Nisabi's cloud database through synchronization before you explicitly enable it.
12. When information may be shared
We do not sell personal information or financial records.
Information may be processed by service providers as necessary to deliver the features you use.
Apple or Google
These providers process information when you choose their authentication services, subject to their respective policies.
Firebase
Firebase provides configured cloud infrastructure and related services for supported account and synchronization features. Synchronized information may be processed and stored by these services.
Gold API and ExchangeRate-API
These providers supply external price or exchange-rate reference data. Requests are designed not to contain your entered financial figures or personal profile information.
Other disclosures
We may disclose information if required by law, a valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or lawful interests of Nisabi or its users.
Service providers may process information under their own privacy policies and service terms. We do not authorize service providers to sell your financial records or use them for advertising on our behalf.
13. International data processing
Nisabi may be used from different countries. Depending on your use of authentication and synchronization features, information may be processed or stored in locations where our service providers operate.
The location of cloud processing and storage depends on the configuration of the services we use.
Where applicable privacy law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will take the steps required by that law.
14. Data retention
Retention depends on where information is stored and which features you use.
Local data: Information remains on your device until you delete it, remove the relevant records, or uninstall the app, subject to device and backup behaviour.
Synchronized data: Information remains associated with your cloud account until you delete it or request account deletion, subject to applicable legal retention requirements and the technical operation of backups.
Technical and security records: Limited operational records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or meet legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary by information type and service provider.
Export important records before deleting information or uninstalling the app if you wish to keep a copy.
15. Exporting and deleting your information
Exporting a backup
You can export a backup using the functionality available in Nisabi.
An exported backup may contain sensitive financial information. Store it securely, avoid sharing it unnecessarily, and delete copies you no longer need.
Deleting local data
You can delete local app data using the deletion controls provided by Nisabi.
Deleting local information may be irreversible. Export a backup first if you want to retain your records.
Uninstalling the app may remove locally stored information, but it does not necessarily delete synchronized cloud records or previously created device backups.
Deleting your account and synchronized records
You can request account deletion using the account-deletion functionality available in Nisabi or by contacting support@devsfort.com.
When you delete your account, Nisabi deletes the financial records and other personal information associated with your synchronized account from its active cloud database, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Account deletion is intended to remove the associated cloud records, not merely disable access to the account.
Local information is stored separately from synchronized cloud information. If you also want to remove information stored on your device, use the app's local-data deletion controls.
Some information may remain temporarily in system backups or be retained where required by law. Where retention is necessary, it will be handled in accordance with applicable requirements and deleted when retention is no longer necessary.
For assistance with account or data deletion, contact support@devsfort.com.
Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or unnecessary financial records in a support request.
16. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Object to or request restrictions on certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of eligible information.
- Lodge a complaint with a relevant privacy regulator.
To exercise applicable rights, contact support@devsfort.com.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Australian users
Where applicable, Nisabi will handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
The application of particular legal obligations depends on the circumstances and the entity operating Nisabi. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Children's privacy
Nisabi is not designed to collect children's personal information unnecessarily.
If you believe a child has provided personal information in circumstances that are inappropriate or unlawful, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
Any applicable parental consent, guardian involvement, or other legal requirements continue to apply.
18. Links to other services
Nisabi or its website may link to external websites and services, including providers of reference prices and exchange rates.
We do not control the privacy practices of independent services. Visiting an external website or using an external service is subject to its own terms and policies.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Nisabi's features, infrastructure, or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published on our website with its updated date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing material changes.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
