Terms of Use

Understand your Zakat. Organize your records. Make informed decisions.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Nisabi, a mobile application designed to help users calculate estimated Zakat obligations, understand Nisab, organize financial information, and maintain payment records.

By accessing or using Nisabi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

1. About Nisabi

Nisabi is operated by DEVSFORT (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED (“Nisabi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Nisabi provides tools to help you organize financial information, estimate Zakat obligations, review relevant reference values, and maintain records.

Nisabi is an informational and organizational tool. It does not replace your own judgment, qualified religious guidance, professional financial advice, or legal advice.

2. Eligibility and your responsibilities

You may use Nisabi only where you are legally permitted to do so.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge.
  • Review financial figures and calculation settings before relying on results.
  • Keep your device and account credentials secure.
  • Use Nisabi only for lawful purposes.
  • Avoid attempting to disrupt, compromise, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the application or its services.
  • Maintain your own copies of important records.
  • Ensure you have the right to enter or store any information you provide.

You are responsible for the information you enter and the decisions you make based on the app's outputs.

3. Zakat calculations and religious information

Nisabi provides calculations and reference information intended to help you understand and organize your Zakat obligations.

Calculations may depend on information such as:

  • Assets and liabilities you enter.
  • Gold and silver values.
  • Currency exchange rates.
  • Nisab thresholds and reference values.
  • Calculation methodologies and preferences.
  • Assessment dates and other settings.

Different scholars, schools of Islamic jurisprudence, and authorities may apply different interpretations or calculation methods.

Nisabi may provide calculation options or explanations, but it does not determine the religious validity of your individual circumstances.

Nisabi does not provide a binding religious ruling or fatwa. You are responsible for deciding which methodology is appropriate for you and seeking guidance from a qualified scholar or trusted religious authority where needed.

You should independently verify the assumptions and values used in a calculation before acting on the result.

4. Estimates, prices, and exchange rates

Nisabi may retrieve gold, silver, and exchange-rate information from third-party services.

Reference values may be delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, or different from the values applicable to your particular circumstances.

The actual value of an asset may depend on factors such as purity, weight, market conditions, transaction costs, currency conversion, and the valuation method you use.

Nisabi does not guarantee that reference prices or exchange rates are current, complete, or suitable for every calculation.

You are responsible for checking relevant figures and adjusting them where appropriate.

5. No financial, tax, or legal advice

Nisabi is not a bank, financial adviser, investment adviser, tax agent, law firm, payment institution, or religious authority.

Information and calculations provided through the app are for general informational and organizational purposes. They are not personalized professional financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

You should consult an appropriately qualified professional where your circumstances require it.

Nisabi does not guarantee any financial outcome or the acceptance of a particular calculation by a religious, governmental, financial, or other authority.

6. Your data and local storage

Nisabi is designed to store your financial records and preferences locally on your device by default.

Signing in does not automatically upload your financial records. You must explicitly enable synchronization before supported financial records are uploaded to Nisabi's cloud services.

Receipt photographs are stored in the app's private local storage and are not uploaded to Nisabi's cloud through synchronization.

Your use of data-storage, synchronization, export, and deletion features is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for securing your device, protecting exported backups, and maintaining copies of information you wish to preserve.

Local data may be lost if you uninstall the app, reset your device, experience device failure, or delete the relevant records. Device backup behaviour depends on your operating-system and app settings.

7. Accounts and synchronization

Some features may require sign-in using Apple or Google.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and notifying us if you believe it has been compromised.

If you enable synchronization, supported information will be transferred to Nisabi's configured cloud services and associated with your account.

Synchronization availability may depend on your device, network connection, account status, and the availability of our service providers.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted synchronization or availability across every device or app version.

You should periodically verify that important records have been saved or exported before relying on them.

8. Export and deletion

Nisabi may provide features to export your information and delete local records.

You are responsible for storing exported backups securely. Exported files may contain sensitive financial information.

Deleting local records may be irreversible. Deleting your account also removes associated synchronized financial records from Nisabi's active cloud database, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.

Local records, synchronized records, and device backups may be stored separately. You may need to use the appropriate controls to delete each copy.

Account deletion may make synchronized records unavailable and may prevent you from recovering them. Export any records you want to keep before requesting deletion.

9. Payments and payment records

Nisabi may allow you to create payment plans, schedule intended payments, or mark payments as completed.

These records are for your own tracking and organizational purposes.

Unless a specific payment integration is expressly provided, Nisabi does not initiate, transfer, receive, or independently verify money merely because you create or update a payment record.

You are responsible for confirming actual transactions through your bank or payment provider.

If payment or donation integrations are introduced, additional terms may apply.

10. Third-party services

Nisabi may rely on third-party services to provide authentication, cloud synchronization, reference prices, exchange rates, or other functionality.

These services may include Apple, Google, Firebase, Gold API, and ExchangeRate-API.

Third-party services are operated independently and may be subject to separate terms, availability limitations, and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for independent third-party services to the extent permitted by applicable law. This does not exclude any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Intellectual property

Nisabi and its associated software, design, branding, text, graphics, and other materials are owned by or licensed to the operator, except for materials belonging to third parties.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Nisabi for your own lawful purposes.

You must not, except where permitted by law or expressly authorized by us:

  • Copy, distribute, or commercially exploit the application or its content.
  • Modify, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive source code from the application.
  • Remove proprietary notices or branding.
  • Use Nisabi's intellectual property to create an unauthorized derivative product.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application or its intellectual property to you.

12. Acceptable use

You must not use Nisabi to:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations.
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the application.
  • Access accounts, systems, or data without authorization.
  • Introduce malicious software or attempt to compromise the service.
  • Abuse, overload, or disrupt the infrastructure supporting Nisabi.
  • Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of another person.

We may take reasonable steps to protect the service if we detect misuse, security risks, or unlawful activity.

13. Availability and changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain, improve, secure, or adapt Nisabi.

We may release updates to address defects, improve calculations, change supported services, or comply with legal requirements.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, that the app will operate without errors, or that historical data will be compatible with every future version.

Where reasonably practicable, we will take appropriate steps to communicate material changes that affect users.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nisabi is provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not warrant that:

  • Every calculation will be accurate or suitable for every religious interpretation.
  • External reference prices or exchange rates will always be current or available.
  • The app will operate without interruption, errors, or compatibility issues.
  • Data will never be lost or corrupted.
  • The application will meet every user's individual requirements.

You remain responsible for reviewing information, maintaining backups, and determining whether the app's outputs are appropriate for your circumstances.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, guarantee, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of Nisabi, including loss arising from reliance on an estimate, an incorrect input, an unavailable third-party service, or failure to maintain an appropriate backup.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, it will be limited to the extent permitted by the law applicable to the relevant claim.

Nothing in these Terms removes any non-excludable rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable law.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Nisabi at any time.

You may request account deletion using the controls available in the app or by contacting support@devsfort.com.

We may suspend or restrict access to account-based services where reasonably necessary to address security risks, unlawful activity, abuse, or material breaches of these Terms.

Where appropriate and legally permissible, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of significant restrictions.

Ending your use of the app does not necessarily remove local records, device backups, or other copies you have created. Account deletion and data removal are governed by the applicable controls and our Privacy Policy.

17. Privacy

Your use of Nisabi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is stored, processed, synchronized, and deleted.

The Privacy Policy forms part of the information governing your use of Nisabi. If a provision of these Terms conflicts with a non-excludable privacy right, the applicable law prevails.

You can contact support@devsfort.com with privacy questions or data-deletion requests.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Nisabi's features, services, or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on our website with an updated date. Where required by law, we will provide notice or obtain consent before implementing changes.

Your continued use of Nisabi after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you should stop using the affected services.

19. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are subject to the laws applicable to the operator and the relevant user relationship, subject to any mandatory legal protections that apply in your jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection legislation.

Where a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
